Service Upgrades

Panel upgrades, fuse box replacements and full system overhauls for homes and businesses that need more power or safer equipment.

A lot of electrical panels were sized for a house without central air, an electric range, a hot tub or an electric car. The warning signs are usually easy to spot. Breakers trip often, lights dim when big appliances start, a fuse box is still in service, or there's a burning smell at the panel. Adding new equipment is the other common reason. A hot tub or EV charger each needs its own circuit, and the panel has to have the room and capacity for it. We start by looking at what you have now and what you plan to add. Some jobs are a straight panel upgrade. Others call for a complete system overhaul, with old wiring replaced along with the panel. Outdated fuse boxes get replaced with a modern breaker panel. A service upgrade usually means a planned power shutoff while the work is done, so we tell you ahead of time when the power will be off. We do service upgrades for homes and businesses in Springboro and nearby. If your panel is acting up and you aren't sure an upgrade is needed, a repair visit is a good place to start.

Common questions

How do I know if my panel needs an upgrade?

Common signs are frequent breaker trips, an old fuse box, a burning smell from the panel, and not enough power for what you run. Plans to add a large appliance, hot tub or EV charger are also a reason to have the panel checked first.

Should I replace an old fuse box?

Many fuse boxes were never meant for the loads homes carry today. If you replace blown fuses often or want to add circuits, the usual fix is to replace the fuse box with a breaker panel. We can look at yours and tell you what makes sense.

Will my power be off during a panel upgrade?

Yes, for part of the job. We plan the shutoff ahead of time and let you know when to expect it, so you can work around it.
