Lighting & Ceiling Fans

We install and replace light fixtures and ceiling fans in Springboro homes, from dining room chandeliers to kitchen LED lighting.

Most lighting calls start with a fixture that has worn out its welcome. A ceiling fan wobbles or hums, a dated chandelier hangs over the dining table, or the kitchen is still lit by fluorescent tubes that flicker and buzz. Sometimes a room has no overhead light at all, just a switched outlet and a lamp. We handle the whole swap. We shut off and test the circuit, take down the old fixture, and check the box and wiring behind it. Ceiling fans need a fan-rated box, and heavier fixtures need solid support, so we correct that first if it isn't right. Then we mount the new light or fan, wire it, and test the switch before we leave. We wear shoe covers in your home. If you want to add to the job while we're there, just ask. That could mean changing a fan to a semi-flush light, swapping cream switches and plates to white, or adding a switch where you've always wanted one. If a light keeps flickering and it isn't the bulb, we can track down the cause. That kind of troubleshooting is the same work we do for businesses. To set up a visit, contact us.

Common questions

Can you put a ceiling fan where a light fixture is now?

Usually, yes. The existing box has to be rated for a fan, because fans are heavier than most lights and they move. If the box isn't rated for that, we replace it with a fan-rated box and brace before hanging the fan.

Can you replace fluorescent kitchen lights with LED?

Yes. We remove the old fluorescent fixture, check the wiring and box, and install the LED fixture you've chosen. LED fixtures don't buzz or flicker the way aging fluorescent tubes do.

Why do my lights flicker even with new bulbs?

Common causes include a dimmer that isn't compatible with LED bulbs, a loose connection at the fixture or switch, or a problem on the circuit itself. If the flicker happens in more than one room or comes with tripped breakers, call us so we can find the cause.
